TransformGov Talks is a fully independent organisation that organises the TransformGov Talks event series and has done so since 2024. Our community is always at the heart of what we do, and we want to continue to make sure we’re doing our best to protect information about you that you’ve trusted us to hold. This privacy policy will explain how we use the personal data we collect from people who attend our events and / or sign up for our newsletter or volunteer mailing list.

What data do we collect?
TransformGov Talks collects the following data:
- Luma.com registration details (name, email, answers to event questions, guest numbers, comments).
- Newsletter sign-ups: name and email address (via Wix.com).
- Volunteer sign-ups: phone number (via WhatsApp).
- Survey data if we conduct community demographics surveys.
How do we collect your data?
- When you register for an event.
- When you sign up to the newsletter.
- When you join the volunteer email list.
How will we use your data?
- To track attendance at events.
- To send our newsletter to subscribers.
- To communicate with our volunteers.
- Potentially to track the demographics of our community.
We will not share data about you with any third parties under any circumstances. Only TransformGov Talks organisers have access to this data. A list of organisers can be found on our website.
How do we store your data?
TransformGov Talks securely stores your data in the cloud using a combination of Google’s G-Suite tools. As per Article 5(e) of the GDPR, we will keep your data for no longer than the time we need to process it.
Marketing
TransformGov Talks will never send you marketing materials for anything other than the events series itself.
What are your data protection rights?
Every user is entitled to the following:
- The right to access – request a copy of your personal data.
- The right to rectification – request corrections or completion of incomplete data.
- The right to erasure – request that we erase your personal data.
- The right to restrict processing – request that we limit processing of your data.
- The right to object – object to our processing of your data (this may affect your ability to attend events).
- The right to data portability – request transfer of your data to another organisation or directly to you.

Cookies
Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard log information and visitor behaviour information. The TransformGov Talks website does not use any cookies.
